New Students

Entering Students

Middle and High School students that are new to the Benton Community School District may contact the Middle School/High School Guidance Office to set up a time to meet with a counselor. This meeting will ensure adequate time to schedule the student into classes, review policies and procedures of the school and provide a tour of the building.

Call our office as soon as you know you will be transferring to our school. We will set up a time to meet with you.

We will request records from your current school. This can take some time so, we appreciate as much notice as possible. If you have it, please bring a current class schedule and/or a current transcript or report card.

During your meeting with our counselor, you will sign up for classes. Please review our course book for ideas on classes appropriate for you. Click on the Registration and Course Information Link.

Exiting Students

Middle school and High school students who are preparing to transfer out of the district during the school year should follow the steps below.

Parents should contact Benton Community Middle School/High School Guidance Office and provide us with a last day.

Contact your new school to speak with them about the transfer.

The new school will request records from us.

The student should stop in the Guidance Office to pick up an exit form on their last day. Each teacher records a grade, collects textbooks, and signs the form.

The new school will recieve a copy of the in-progress grades in each of the classes.

Students transferring during the summer break only need to follow steps 1 and 2.
